Jerman - Arkeologi Jerman menemukan sejumlah kayu runcing yang diduga perangkap mematikan era Romawi. Kayu-kayu itu bagaikan kawat duri zaman modern.

Perangkap mematikan yang terbuat dari tiang kayu runcing ditemukan selama penyelidikan arkeologi di dua kamp militer Romawi di Bad Ems.

Diketahui ketika Julius Caesar memimpin pasukan militernya di Gallia di abad pertama sebelum Masehi, dia menulis soal batang kayu runcing yang mengelilingi kamp untuk melindungi pasukannya. Bentuk susunan batang kayu runcing yang mengelilingi kamp itu serupa dengan kawat duri di zaman sekarang.
