Struktur upacara berbentuk U ini, yang merupakan komponen dari situs arkeologi Miraflores di provinsi pesisir Huaral, terletak 95 kilometer (60 mil) di utara Lima di Lembah Sungai Chancay yang lebih rendah. Kuil ini digunakan sepanjang Masa Pembentukan sebagai pusat upacara pemujaan air. Akibatnya, strukturnya diorientasikan ke arah sumber Sungai Chancay dan menjauhi perairan Samudera Pasifik.
