Mesir - Masjid Al-Hakim bi-Amr Allah di Mesir kembali dibuka setelah renovasi. Masjid ini dinamai berdasarkan Khalifah Fatimiyah keenam.

Mesir membuka kembali masjid bersejarah di Kairo lama setelah direnovasi. Masjid ini diberi nama Al-Hakim bi-Amr Allah, yang dinamai berdasarkan Khalifah Fatimiyah keenam.

Masjid Al-Hakim bi-Amr Allah dibuka kembali untuk pengunjung mulai 27 Februari 2023 usai direnovasi. Proyek renovasi masjid bersejarah ini dimulai pada 2017 dengan anggaran mencapai 85 juta pound Mesir atau setara Rp41 miliar.

Renovasi dilakukan atas kerja sama antara otoritas barang antik Mesir dan sekte Syiah Bohra, di mana renovasi termasuk "restorasi arsitektur dan akurat" serta pekerjaan pemeliharaan untuk menangkal bahaya dan melindungi dinding masjid dari pengaruh kelembapan dan garam.

Pembukaan kembali Masjid al-Hakim bi-Amr Allah merupakan tambahan yang bagus untuk Kairo yang bersejarah, terutama bisa menjadi daya tarik baru wisatawan untuk wisata religi ke Mesir.

Masjid Al-Hakim bi-Amr Allah adalah masjid terbesar kedua di ibu kota Mesir ini. Pembangunannya dimulai pada tahun 380 Hijriah (990 M) oleh al-Aziz Billah, khalifah kelima dari Dinasti Fatimiyah, sementara putranya al-Hakim bi-Amr Allah melanjutkan pembangunannya pada tahun 393 Hijriah (1003 M) selama sepuluh tahun hingga akhirnya dibuka pada tahun 403 Hijriah.

Dengan datangnya bulan suci Ramadan, Masjid Al-Hakim bi-Amr Allah diharapkan menjadi salah satu pusat kegiatan umat Muslim di Mesir, sekaligus mampu mendatangkan pengunjung yang berlimpah untuk memakmurkan masjid.
