Rose Pilih Toxic Till The End Jadi Single Andalan Album 'rosie'
Album penuh pertama Rosé BLACKPINK, 'rosie', resmi dirilis Jumat (6/12/2024). Setelah sebelumnya membuka rangkaian perilisan album ini dengan dua single yakni APT. (feat. Bruno Mars) dan Number One Girl, kali ini Rosé memilih lagu berjudul Toxic Till The End sebagai single selanjutnya.
Seperti yang dikatakan Rosé di awal pengumuman album 'rosie', cerita yang ditulis dalam lirik lagu-lagu di album ini datang dari pengalaman pribadinya. Khusus di lagu Toxic Till The End ini Rosé ngomongin soal mantan pacarnya yang emang nggak sehat banget dalam menjalin hubungan.
Tapi di saat yang sama, Rosé juga bilang meski tahu hubungan itu toxic, dia tetap ingin kembali ke orang yang sama. Di liriknya ada banyak konflik dalam perasaan si penulis lagu soal si mantan.
Ada bagian interlude di lagu ini yang kayaknya bakal jadi viral di TikTok dalam beberapa waktu ke depan nih. Itu pas bagian Rosé bilang 'Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you: The Ex'.
Rosé menggunakan nama aslinya Chae Young Park di credit lagu Toxic Till The End. Dia mengerjakan lagu ini dengan Emily Warren Schwartz, Michael Pollack, dan Evan Blair (sekaligus produser).
Emily Warren Schwartz merupakan produser pemenang Grammy yang sebelumnya banyak menulis lagu buat artis-artis kenamaan termasuk New Rules milik Dua Lipa hingga Don't Let Me Down milik The Chainsmokers.
Diskografi Michael Pollack nggak kalah cemerlang. Sepanjang kariernya sebagai produser dan penulis lagu, dia sudah pernah bekerja sama dengan Troye Sivan, Lauv, Justin Bieber, hingga Miley Cyrus. Faktanya dia adalah sosok di balik sukses lagu Flowers milik Miley.
Sepanjang karier bermusiknya, Evan Blair sudah pernah berkolaborasi dengan Benson Boone Reneé Rapp, Bella Poarch, hingga Anne-Marie. Lagu Boyfriend yang dinyanyikan Dove Cameron juga jadi salah satu karya terbaiknya.
